Nepenthes alata (Tropical Pitcher Plant) – 2–3” Starter
Carnivorous | Tropical | Hanging Pitchers
Who needs bug spray when your plant does the dirty work? Nepenthes alata is a tropical pitcher plant that traps insects in hanging, fluid-filled pitchers that are both beautiful and biologically savage.
The long, elegant pitchers form naturally from the ends of its leaves, creating a cascading vine that’s perfect for hanging baskets or shelf drama. Bonus: It eats fungus gnats, fruit flies, and any other tiny freeloaders hanging around.
This listing is for a 2–3” rooted starter, already forming pitchers (or just about to) and ready to grow.
Care Tips:
-
Bright, indirect light — no harsh direct sun
 -
High humidity preferred (mist or use a pebble tray)
 -
Keep soil moist with distilled or rainwater only
 -
Use sphagnum moss or a carnivorous plant mix
 -
Don’t fertilize — it feeds through its pitchers

Plant nerd note: Nepenthes are passive pitfall trap carnivores — meaning they don’t move, they lure. Once a bug falls in, it’s done. No judgment.
Shipped with care in protective packaging. Rooted, healthy, and ready to snack.
